(reviews) A versatile escape in Surry offering a perfect mix of rugged tent sites and premium glamping options for every kind of camper. One of America's oldest working farms, offering historic tours, James River fossil hunting, and shaded campsites. Just across the James River from historic Jamestown in beautiful Surry County, Chippokes is one of the oldest continually farmed plantations in the country. A working farm since 1619, the park offers modern recreational activities and a glimpse of life in a bygone era. Visitors tour the historic area with its antebellum mansion and outbuildings, stroll through formal gardens, and view antique equipment at the Chippokes Farm and Forestry Museum. A campground and four overnight cabins allow visitors to stay on the historic grounds. The park has a visitor center with a gift shop, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. ### Site Types Available RV Sites Tent Sites Cabins Yurts Lodge Group Sites ### What This Campground Offers #### For Campers ##### Recreation & Fun Playground Swimming Pool #### For Your RV ##### Camping Types RV Sites Tent Sites Cabins Glamping Group Sites ##### RV Specifications Up to 50 ft Big Rig Friendly ##### Hookups Water + Electric ##### Electric Service 20 amp 30 amp 50 amp #### Rules & Policies Allowed Pets A fee is charged per pet per night for cabin stays.
