Primitive forest and riverside camping on the Olympic Peninsula, free with a Washington Discover Pass.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages a network of primitive campgrounds across the Olympic Peninsula, primarily within the Olympic Experimental State Forest. These sites offer a rustic camping experience with basic facilities such as vault toilets and fire rings, often situated in scenic forest settings or along major rivers like the Hoh, Sol Duc, and Clearwater. All campgrounds in this region are available on a first-come, first-served basis and accommodate both tents and small RVs or trailers up to 30 feet. Access to these sites is included at no additional cost with the purchase of a Washington Discover Pass.
