Set along the Kananaskis River and surrounded by sweeping Rocky Mountain scenery, Sundance by Basecamp offers a quiet, off-grid camping experience designed for slowing down and reconnecting with nature. This intimate campground features just ten spacious, tree-lined campsites, creating a private, peaceful atmosphere ideal for couples, families, and small groups seeking a more relaxed mountain stay.
Campers can choose from a mix of drive-up and walk-in sites suited for tents, camper vans, and small RVs, all unserviced to preserve the rustic feel. Each site includes a picnic table and firepit with a half-grill, making it easy to enjoy outdoor meals and cozy evenings under the stars.
Beyond traditional camping, Sundance also offers unique glamping options like canvas tents and tipis, blending comfort with an authentic outdoor experience. While the setting is intentionally simple, essential amenities are thoughtfully provided, including complimentary hot showers, flush toilets, and a central Trading Post stocked with basic groceries, coffee, camping supplies, and rental gear.
The campground’s open green spaces and on-site activities—such as volleyball, bocce, and riverside trails—encourage both relaxation and play, while nearby fishing spots and hiking trails offer easy access to the surrounding wilderness. Its location also makes it a convenient base for day trips to nearby destinations like Canmore, Banff, and Calgary.
With no Wi-Fi and limited cell service, Sundance is intentionally unplugged, inviting guests to trade screens for campfires, fresh air, and star-filled skies—sometimes even with a chance to spot the Northern Lights.

Pets
Leashes/extendable ropes must be kept under 10 feet at all times. Pets cannot be left unattended in tents. Leashes cannot be dragging or loose. It is illegal not to have your pet restrained and under control at all times as per provincial park laws. Pets are not permitted in or around tipi sites, in the Trading Post or in washrooms. We reserve the right to require immediate removal of any pet that displays dangerous or unacceptable behaviour, including, but not limited to: biting, excessive noise/barking or evidence of disease. Your account will be charged for the repair or replacement cost for any damage caused by your pet.
