Lory State Park is a 2,591-acre foothills gem located just west of Fort Collins, Colorado. The park features a diverse landscape of unique rock outcroppings, sandstone hogbacks, grassy open meadows, and ponderosa pine forests. It offers over 26 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, with elevations reaching 6,780 feet at Arthur's Rock. Camping is exclusively primitive and backcountry-based, requiring a minimum two-mile hike to reach one of the six designated sites. The park is bordered by Horsetooth Reservoir, providing access to coves for kayaking and canoeing.
