Rugged mountain camping at 5,400 feet altitude in the heart of Big Bend National Park's Chisos Mountains.

The Chisos Basin Campground is located at an altitude of 5,400 feet and is surrounded by high rocky cliffs and some of the park's most popular trails. It is within walking distance of the Chisos Basin Visitor Center, a camp store, and the Chisos Mountains Lodge restaurant. Due to the winding, narrow road, trailers over 20 feet and RVs over 24 feet are not recommended.
