Kiptopeke State Park is a 562-acre recreational area situated on Virginia's Eastern Shore along the Chesapeake Bay. Explored by Captain John Smith in 1608, the park is now a premier destination for birdwatchers on the Atlantic Flyway and is famous for the nine historic concrete ships resting offshore. The facility offers a wide range of overnight accommodations, including a full-service campground with RV and tent sites, yurts, family lodges, and two- to three-bedroom cabins. Visitors enjoy access to two beaches, a 24-hour lighted fishing pier, boat ramps, and over 5 miles of hiking and biking trails.
