Newton Creek Campground is situated along the North Fork of the Shoshone River within the Shoshone National Forest, approximately 37 miles west of Cody, Wyoming. Positioned at an elevation of 6,300 feet, the campground offers 31 sites surrounded by juniper and fir trees, providing a scenic and shaded environment. Due to the high frequency of grizzly bear activity in the area, the Forest Service mandates hard-sided camping only, prohibiting tents and pop-up campers. The site serves as a prime base for fishing, wildlife viewing, and visiting nearby attractions like Mummy Cave and the Firefighters Memorial, located just 16 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
