Halibut Point State Recreation Site is a scenic waterfront park located four miles north of downtown Sitka. The site is a popular destination for both residents and visitors, offering access to an ocean beach for beachcombing and exploring the inter-tidal zone. It features a half-mile hiking trail through a coastal spruce and hemlock forest, as well as multiple covered picnic shelters and a volleyball court. The park is also the location of the Sitka State Parks Office.
